Slovakia 2 Euro 2022 - 35 Years of the Erasmus Programme UNC

The design is a blend of two main elements of the Erasmus programme: the original intellectual inspiration — Erasmus himself — and the allegory of the programme's influence on Europe. The first element is symbolised by one of the most famous depictions of Erasmus. The second symbol is a bundle of rays crossing the coin from one lighthouse to another, representing the large-scale intellectual and human exchange between European students. As a reference to Europe, some of these rays form other stars, born from the synergy between nations. The number 35, representing the 35th anniversary, stands out among the stars in a modern graphic style. The outer ring of the coin depicts the 12 stars of the European Union.
