Greece 2 Euro 2024 Democracy UNC

The coin depicts the Greek Parliament, surrounded by the words "50 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΜΕΤΑΠΟΛΙΤΕΥΣΗ" ("50 YEARS SINCE THE RESTORATION OF DEMOCRACY IN GREECE") and "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ" ("HELLENIC REPUBLIC"). At the bottom is depicted a palmette (the symbol of the Greek mint). The fall of the colonels' junta on 24 July 1974 marks the restoration of democracy in Greece after seven years of dictatorship. The outer ring of the coin depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
